MOUNTAIN STRING BAND has virtually exploded onto the
Colorado music scene. after being together for just a over year,
the YMSB has been packing rooms and turning ears,
creating an audience that won't take no for an answer. at a
recent show, the waiting list to even ENTER THE VENUE was over
an hour. people braved the bitter colorado cold for an opportunity
to come inside and FREAK OUT to the sound of the YMSB!!!
nestled in the mountain town of nederland, co., the boys have
been spending their time combining the sounds of traditional
bluegrass, high-octane instrumental arrangements, and powerful
originals to create FULLY RESINATED BLUEGRASS FOR THE HIGH
COUNTRY!!! "drive without the drums" they say,
and man, IS IT TRUE!!! people not familiar with bluegrass have
become hooked, and those who are say the YMSB is one of
the best to come along in a long time!! gaining a reputation and
backing from folks like Leftover Salmon, the Darol
Anger/Mike Marshall Band, and Sally van Meter has pushed
them to heights no one could ever imagine in such a short time.
No two shows are ever alike... ranging from HARDCORE
BLUEGRASS for the most traditional fan, to full-on ACOUSTIC
ACID-GRASS for the freak inside us all, the yonder mountain
boys have been knocking them down and taking names. |
